We put the Nike Free Flyknit 3.0's through a few runs and here's our quick take: Shockingly lightweight. These replace the Nike Free 5.0 in my closet. Those were light, these are like air.

More supportive than they look. First time on, the sock-like rib cuff didn't seem substantial enough. But once out on the street these were gave me all the ankle support I needed as a heel striker.

Natural feel. The Flyknits feel more like part of my foot than a shoe I run in. Extremely comfortable and breathable. Nike says you can wear them barefoot, but I prefer thin socks.

Speedy. Each run I clocked in 10 seconds faster per mile than average. I certainly felt lighter and quicker on my feet, so I'll credit the shoes for the boost.

Overall: Love the performance (plus I'm a sucker for Nike's Flyknit style) for clear roads, but won't be taking them out in the winter when things get slushy and wet.
