Cindy Whitehead: Epic Skateboarding Hero
70's pro skateboarder Cindy Whitehead has never thought "girl" should be a four-letter word. Yet she got that shit a lot, being the rare girl in a male dominated sport. When interviewers asked her why girls skateboard, she replied, "Girls should do what they love. Not what society feels is socially expected of them." Cindy continued being rad and ignoring society's expectations, going on to become one of the top ranked female skaters in the United States for pool riding and half pipe. And she's been an outspoken advocate for girls ever since.
"Don't be afraid to speak your mind. Don't be afraid to channel your inner rebel. Don't be afraid to live life balls to the wall. Do epic shit."
